Acts 17:22-31

Right Where It Is Suppose to Be

By Lois Parker Edstrom

Objects suggested: A pencil, backpack, a hat, keys, a hammer….

Do you ever lose things? A pencil? Your backpack? Your shoes or hat?

Have you ever watched your parents search for some item they have misplaced? Keys? A check book? A tool that they need to repair the sink or the car?

How frustrating to need a certain thing and be unable to find it.

Have you ever looked for an item that you thought was missing and then found it right where it was suppose to be––right in plain sight? I know of a man who looked for his car keys for several days and then found the keys on the kitchen counter. Or the young boy who thought he had lost his lunch money and then found it in his back pocket.

In the Bible the apostle, Paul speaks about people searching for God. Even now people continue to search for God.

This is what The Apostle Paul says about finding God. He says, “He (God) is not far from each one of us” (17:27) “for in him we live, and move, and have our being” (17:28).

Paul reminds us that “God… made the world and all things in it” (17:24). We are God’s children.

We don’t need to search far and wide to find God. The Bible teaches us to be quiet and listen. Pray. God’s Spirit lives in us. When you accept God’s Love it is with you always.
