DEACON ROD AMON was born in 1949 to parents who owned a hardware store. He thinks that he was born and raised in that store. It was there that he learned to listen to people so that he could help them to solve their problems.

Rod came to the Catholic Church in 1990 after marrying his wife, Marcia. He promised God that he would do more than just put money in the collection. He heard a voice answer, “Don’t worry!”

In 2000, Rod was ordained a Deacon for the Diocese of Lansing. He currently serves St. Mary’s Queen of Angels Church in Swartz Creek, Michigan. He helps people with annulments, and preaches one weekend a month.
