Zephaniah 3:15. Sing, daughter of Zion! Shout, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem. Yahweh has taken away your judgments. He has thrown out your enemy. The King of Israel, Yahweh, is in the midst of you.
Zephaniah 2:3. Seek Yahweh, all you humble of the land, who have kept his ordinances. Seek righteousness. Seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of Yahweh's anger.
Zephaniah 1:13. I will search Jerusalem and punish those who say in their heart, "Yahweh will not do good, neither will he do evil." Their wealth will become a spoil. They will build houses, but won't inhabit them. They will plant vineyards, but won't drink their wine.

“I want to make a confession.” That was the first thing Jack said to me after we introduced ourselves. Jack was in his mid 20s. The hospital chaplain had contacted me because Jack wanted to see a minister.
The Christmas music sets the expectation for a happy, merry, joyful season. But today I want us to give some consideration to those among us who just can’t manage the Christmas spirit. Christmas is not a happy time for everybody.
This would be a less disturbing story if it did not end with the bit about “weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Yet this is not just any story. Jesus is describing the kingdom of heaven. God’s kingdom demands responsible action from its citizens. According to Jesus, inaction results in exclusion.
Sofonías 3:14-20. ¡Canta, hija de Sión! ¡Grita Israel! Alégrate y regocíjate con todo tu corazón, hija de Jerusalén. Yahveh ha quitado tus juicios. Él ha arrojado a tu enemigo. El rey de Israel, Jehová, está en medio de ti.
