The Bible teaches us that "God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (1:7). God didn't create us to worry and be fearful. Yes, sometimes we become frightened and when that happens it helps to remember that God's Spirit of love and power lives in us. His Spirit comforts us and encourages us.
Today's lesson is taken from the following portion of text: "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear" (3:15).

God gives each one of us life. The Bible teaches us that those who accept God's love are given life even after they have died. The Apostle Paul says, "… so also in Christ all will be made alive" (15:22). Enjoy your life and all the remarkable things you see around you every day. Life is good!!
A spiritual house has to do with your spirit. How do you build a strong spirit – the part of you that knows how handle difficult things, the part of you that feels happy and loved and safe? You begin to build your spiritual house by accepting God's love. That gives you a strong foundation.
There is much wisdom in the Bible. One of the reasons we pray for everyone, including ourselves, is that we learn about respect and we learn about having a peaceful life. Find time to be quiet and still. Think about God's love and how good it feels to be peaceful.
When we believe in God our "faith and hope" (1:21) point us in the right direction. God is like our compass. Our faith in God will help us make the right choices. We could say that God, our compass, helps us find our way through life.
God gives all of us a second chance. When we feel sorry for our bad behavior and ask for God's forgiveness, God is patient with us. God's Spirit of Love teaches us how to be more loving. His Spirit guides us in knowing right from wrong. When we know better we can do better. Use your second chance to serve God with faith and love.
What can you give God to show him that you love him? You could pray. In your prayer you could tell God that you love him.
