1 John 4:7-21 Perfect Love (Edstrom)

Love is like a big river that flows into streams and then into oceans where it spreads out and goes everywhere. Love starts with God and is offered to anyone who will accept it. We learn about love because we are first loved and then we give it to our family and friends and they give it to others. It spreads out and goes everywhere. This is God's Spirit being made perfect in us.

1 Corinthians 10:1-13 God Is Faithful (Edstrom)

Paul tells us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man" (10:13). This means that we all at one time or another, experience difficulties and must deal with things that trouble us. When these hard things happen we need to make a plan and decide how we can make things better. This doesn't mean we are never to complain, but it does mean that we have a choice about how we want to react.

1 John 3:1-7 Deepest Love (Edstrom)

Let's talk about the ways your own parents show their love and care for you. (Ask the children for examples.) We can easily think of the good food they provide for you to eat, clothes that keep you warm, your comfortable bed, and cozy home. Their love for you is deep and never ending. Think about how they care for you when you are sick and comfort you when you are frightened or discouraged. The list could go on and on…
