Each one of us can find something for which we have a special talent. Think about what it is that you do well, something you love doing, then use your gift. You will fit together with other Christians into the "body of Christ" and you will make a big difference in your own life and the lives of others.
No matter the size of your problems, God's love is constant; it is always with you. When you are filled with God's love you will make good choices and figure out ways to be happy and experience joy.
The Bible says, "Rejoice always" (5:16). One way to do this is to look for things for which you can "give thanks" (5:18). When you do this you will be surprised by what you discover.
All the bees work together to take care of the hive. We could say that even the bees have special talents and gifts that come from God. They work together for the same purpose and because of that, what do they produce? Yes, honey. Such a sweet, wonderful gift. Just think of how good honey tastes on cornbread or warm biscuits or your morning cereal.
Love is like a big river that flows into streams and then into oceans where it spreads out and goes everywhere. Love starts with God and is offered to anyone who will accept it. We learn about love because we are first loved and then we give it to our family and friends and they give it to others. It spreads out and goes everywhere. This is God's Spirit being made perfect in us.
Paul tells us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man" (10:13). This means that we all at one time or another, experience difficulties and must deal with things that trouble us. When these hard things happen we need to make a plan and decide how we can make things better. This doesn't mean we are never to complain, but it does mean that we have a choice about how we want to react.
When we learn to work together and "build each other up" everyone wins. A person who is generous and helpful to others is a person who feels good about their own abilities. When we all bring our talents together we can accomplish great things.
Neither the elephant nor the dog have words to tell each other of their love, but we can see from their actions and the time they spent together that Tara does indeed love Bella and Bella returns that love. The Bible teaches us to love not only with the words we use "but in deed and truth" (3:18).
Let's talk about the ways your own parents show their love and care for you. (Ask the children for examples.) We can easily think of the good food they provide for you to eat, clothes that keep you warm, your comfortable bed, and cozy home. Their love for you is deep and never ending. Think about how they care for you when you are sick and comfort you when you are frightened or discouraged. The list could go on and on…
Paul says, "Don't you know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run like that, that you may win" (9:24). God's love is there for anyone and everyone––we just need to claim the prize. Our reward is the gospel of love, of happiness and blessings.
