Matthew 14:13-21 Jesus Feeds the People (Klein)

Jesus disciples didn’t know how all those people could be fed, but they did as Jesus asked. They brought the fish and bread to him. Jesus told the people to sit down on the grass. He took the bread and the fish and prayed over it. Then he broke the fish and bread into pieces, and the disciples carried the meal to the people. Everyone ate and when they were finished, the disciples collected the left over pieces of fish and bread. They didn’t waste any of the food. Imagine that!

Matthew 14:13-21 All You Need (Wuori)

In today's Gospel story the disciples have a problem. A huge crowd has gathered to hear Jesus and as they look around they notice that they don't have enough food to feed them all. In fact for the crowd of five thousand people they have only five loaves of bread and two fish! They start to get a little worried and they suggest that Jesus send everyone home because they just don't have enough. But Jesus surprises them.

Matthew 18:15-20 Being a Problem Solver (Wuori)

In tonight's Gospel Jesus teaches a lesson about problem solving in our relationships with others - and what he suggests sounds similar to some of your ideas. Jesus says that when others have sinned against us - and done something unkind - that the first thing to do is have a talk with them. Most of the time when you have a problem talking it over can get things fixed, can't it?

Matthew 11:16-30 Working Together (Edstrom)

When we feel like we are carrying a heavy load or are burdened by problems, Jesus says we can be yoked to him. He says "Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me...." (11:29). As we pray and read the Bible we learn how to look at a problem in a different way. We discover that when we work together our load seems lighter and we feel more able to manage and find solutions for our problems.
