"Behold, my servant, whom I uphold; my chosen, in whom my soul delights—I have put my Spirit on him. He will bring justice to the nations. He won't break a bruised reed or quench a dimly burning wick. He will faithfully bring justice.
Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall; but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.
"Comfort, comfort my people," says your God. "Speak comfortably to Jerusalem; and call out to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of Yahweh's hand double for all her sins."
The wilderness and the dry land will be glad. The desert will rejoice and blossom like a rose. Lebanon will see Yahweh's glory, the excellence of our God.
It shall be said in that day, "Behold, this is our God! We have waited for him, and he will save us! This is Yahweh! We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation!" For in this mountain the hand of Yahweh will rest.
He has swallowed up death forever! The Lord Yahweh will wipe away tears from off all faces. He will take the reproach of his people away from off all the earth, for Yahweh has spoken it.
Behold, God is my salvation. Therefore with joy, draw water out of the wells of salvation. Say, "Give thanks to Yahweh! Call on his name. Declare his doings among the peoples. Proclaim that his name is exalted!"
A shoot will come out of Jesse, and a branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of Yahweh will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Yahweh.
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. Those who lived in the land of the shadow of death, on them the light has shined.
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
