Isaiah 52:7-10 Commentary
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of good, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

The heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment. Those who dwell therein shall die in the same way: but my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
The Lord Yahweh will help me; therefore I have not been confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be disappointed. He is near who justifies me; who will bring charges against me?
"Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you! Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands."
"It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give you for a light to the nations, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth."
We wouldn’t think of going swimming without making sure we have our towel, bathing suit and sunscreen. Let’s be prepared for Jesus’ return too. We don’t know when that will be, but we want to be ready. We can get ready by asking Jesus to live in our hearts, by staying away from doing things that will hurt us or other people, and by reading our Bible, praying and going to church.
Thus says Yahweh to his anointed, to Cyrus, "For Israel my chosen, I have called you by your name, though you have not known me. I will strengthen you, that they may know that there is none besides me."
This is what Yahweh, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, Yahweh of Armies, says: "I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God.
"Don't remember the former things, and don't consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs forth now. Don't you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Thus says Yahweh who created you, Jacob, and he who formed you, Israel: "Don't be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you."
