1 Samuel 17:1-58
David said, "Yahweh who delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine." Saul said to David, "Go; and Yahweh shall be with you."
David said, "Yahweh who delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine." Saul said to David, "Go; and Yahweh shall be with you."
Come, and let us return to Yahweh; for he has torn us to pieces, and he will heal us; he has injured us, and he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us. On the third day he will raise us up.
Jesse brought David. Yahweh said, "Arise, anoint him; for this is he." Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brothers: and the Spirit of Yahweh came mightily on David from that day forward.
Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel to Ramah. They said, "Behold, you are old, and your sons don't walk in your ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations."
I will betroth you to me in righteousness, in justice, in loving kindness, and in compassion. I will even betroth you to me in faithfulness; and you shall know Yahweh.
Yahweh came, and stood, and called as at other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" Samuel said, "Speak; for your servant hears." Samuel told Eli every bit, and hid nothing from him.
Yahweh said to Hosea, "Go, take for yourself a wife of prostitution and children of unfaithfulness; for the land commits great adultery, forsaking Yahweh." So Hosea took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; and she bore him a son.
"Come now, and let us reason together," says Yahweh: "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
Yahweh said to Moses, "This is the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, 'I will give it to your seed.' I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there."
Now Eli was very old; and he heard that his sons lay with the women at the door of the Tent of Meeting. Eli said, "Why do you do such things? for I hear of your evil dealings." But they didn't listen to the voice of their father, because Yahweh intended to kill them.
