God's love helps us to overcome the bad choices we make such as hurting others, saying untrue, hurtful things, getting angry or telling lies. It's not much fun to talk about these bad choices, but we all need a reminder once in a while. Once we know better, we can do better. God's love teaches us how to be a better person. It teaches us how to feel more joy. God's love teaches us to be all that we can be.

We learn to do that as we read this book. (Hold up Holy Bible). It is the Holy Bible, and by reading it and listening to the stories inside, we learn to act the way God wants us to. We learn to be kind to others, and to love God with all our hearts.
The Bible has good advice. Listen to this verse. "Set your mind on the things that are above…" (3:2). The Bible teaches us to think about the things of God. Think about God's love. Think about all the ways God shows his love to us. Remember that God's Spirit is with us. Don't choose to fill your mind with scary movies or TV programs. Don't let the language of others make you feel discouraged. You have control of your thoughts. Set your mind on good thoughts, high thoughts that bring you joy. Expect the best…

To become "established in the faith" first you decide to accept God's love. Then you must decide to study and pray and become strong in what you believe. Each day, as you give thanks for God's love, and share that love with others, you become established in your faith. You grow and learn more and more about God. Just like a plant that grows in good soil, you become "rooted and built up" in God (2:7). You become established in your faith.
